Nostale.ru Forum Rules
Each User agrees with his/her registration to the following forum rules. The Nostale.ru Board Staff holds up the right to warn, censor and ban Users if the Users do not obey to the rules. In extreme cases which are defined on each case individually Users might be banned ingame and from IRC as well. The same goes vice versa. The rules do apply for forums posts and personal messages (PMs). The whole forum is included in the Terms and Conditions of Nostale. Therefore German Laws apply on the whole forum. It also means that the Nostale.co.uk owners are not responsible for any posted pictures or links which are copyrighted.
The general language for this forum is Russian and English.
To guarantee a relaxed atmosphere between all participants on the forum, some posting restrictions are needed.
Forbidden:
- Posting contents and links of pornographic, politically or religiously extremist, moralistic dangerously, advertising and/or offending applicable law. This includes keys, hacks, cracks or other things of illegal nature, including illegal download pages and "warez", and includes discussion of these issues.
- Posting of any personal messages or discussions, without the consent of all involved parties. This clause applies to all Nostale or non Nostale systems of communication such as, but not limited to; private messages, MSN or IRC.
- Contents not belonging to the Forum / Topic posted in, so called Spam/Offtopic. Included into this is Backseat Modding and Posthunting. Backseat Modding is when a User posts like a mod, e.g saying (when not being the Thread Starter) as the only sentence or smiley “Thread closed”. Or where the post says nothing aside from "you posted in the wrong place" or something similar (and some cases where it isn't the only thing in the post if done excessively in multiple posts). Posthunting is when a User posts with only the intention to get a higher postcount. Board Staff may bump topics/post closed smileys only if it is in course of their job.
- 'Bumping' (posting in threads with the sole intention being to push the thread onto the first page of the board) is also not allowed.
- Double posting(posting twice in a row in one thread) will be considered as spam and warned accordingly.
*Bumping and double posting are allowed only when the subforum rules say it's allowed. For example in Trades & Requests forum.
- 'Necroing' (posting in threads where the last post was over 2 months ago) is also not allowed. If the thread hasn't been posted in after 2 months, the subject is dead. Let it stay dead.
- Contents, links, user Names etc. with the only aim to flame and insult other participants of the community. Same goes for trolling: posts solely intended to annoy other people or incite flames.
- Contents containing inappropriate language and excessive cursing. The use of abbreviated vulgar language is forbidden. The use of *** or other censoring is not allowed in place of vulgar language.
- Contents which advertise or link to games not owned or run by Gameforge AG. The same applies to so-called Thief Games. Those are games which have the only aim to get counts by clicking on a link. This is the reason why the Gameforge Game Bite Fight cannot be linked.
- Posting for Users banned on the Forum.
- Impersonation of Staff Members. This includes Names, Avatars, Signatures and anything else.
- Misuse of the report button. This means to click the button although it is obvious that there is no breach of Forum Rules.
-Editing a post after a warning was given (this includes removing or editing the warning) is against the rule and can lead to a ban from the forums.
- Discussion and Requests concerning warnings or banned Users ingame/ on the Forum/ on IRC. Each Staff member has to sign an agreement not to hand out sensitive information of users and can be fined if giving out such. Please get in contact to the staff member who warned/ banned you via PM, IRC query, Email or ticket system.
Spamming of emoticons and images is not allowed due to the fact that it may freeze peoples’ computers. Images or postings which are side exceeding (means one has to scroll vertically or/and horizontally to read all) are not allowed. Total number of smilies in the post on the board is 5 (only if not specified different in the section rules, for example in spamboard number of smilies allowed is 10).
Moderators may remove any pictures deemed to be oversized at any time. No more than 5 pictures may be placed inside any single post.
All posts must contain a minimum of 4 words; Less words will be considered as spam and warned accordingly. Any forms of acronyms such as: ICU, BRB, LOL, ROFLMAO, will be considered one word. Smiley does not count as a word.
No thread may be started with the intend to shame other players. Making lists with players that don't follow the rules, quit raids etc, the so called "name and shame" threads. Posting such thread will result in a warning and possibly a forum ban. If you wish to report players that don't follow the rules please contact a GM by PM, IRC query or Email.
Signatures
Signature Pictures may not exceed the following measurements:
Height: 150px
Width: 450px
Datafile Size is always: 60 kb
Only 1 picture per sig is allowed. (and yes, smileys count as pics too)
Anything that is used as an exploit to circumvent the rules, means posting at the end of the post siglike pictures, is not allowed.
Staff members may be permitted to have larger signatures at the discretion of the Administration.
Forum Staff and User Responsibilities
Each Forum participant has to obey to the Rules. If you feel though to be warned unfairly, first contact the Moderator who warned you. If you are not satisfied, contact his/her Super Moderator. Then you can contact the Board Administrator. The Board Administrator's decision is final in such cases.
The same applies if your Topic gets closed. Please do not open several threads on the same topic and try to use the Search feature
User may register one account only. Exceptions are only allowed by the Board Administration.
After receiving the third warning an account may be banned up to 2 weeks, in extreme cases longer. The circumventing of the ban by registering a second account is not allowed and will result in a permanent ban of both/all board accounts.. An account may get banned permanently if the user again receives several warnings after the account was unlocked. In extreme cases it is possible a User gets banned without having several warnings.
Notes:
If you have a problem with a moderator or GM, PM them and try to resolve it. If you aren't satisfied after, go to their SMod/SGM. If their response isn't satisfactory, go to a BA/GA.
If you have a problem with a GA or BA try to resolve it with them. If you aren't satisfied with their response, talk to the Project Administrator or the Community Manager.
Follow the chain of command or you may find you are ignored!
The Board Staff reserves the right to change rules when they deem it necessary.
Administrators reserve the right to do what they think is best for the forums, including the banning of people.
